How It Works
The ERV unit contains a heat exchanger core where two air streams pass each other without mixing:

Does an ERV replace my HVAC system?

How much does an ERV system cost?

How often does the ERV filter need replacing?
Zehnder ComfoAir filters typically need replacement every 6 to 12 months depending on local air quality. The system monitors filter life and alerts you when it’s time. Filter replacement is a simple DIY task, no service call required.
Can an ERV reduce radon levels?
ERV ventilation dilutes indoor radon by continuously introducing fresh outdoor air. It can meaningfully reduce radon concentrations in tight homes. However, if radon levels are above 4 pCi/L, EPA guidelines recommend a dedicated sub-slab depressurization system in addition to ventilation.
